Playing music from the heart and soul of Ohio

Halloween Tracks Call for Submissions

Calling all Ohio bands: Halloween is coming, and the show is getting spooky!

For the next two weeks, Six Degrees of Ohio is going full Halloween. On Saturday, October 24 and Saturday, October 31 at 8PM Ohio time, I'll be spinning an hour of spooky, creepy, funny, and monster-mash-adjacent songs from Ohio artists, and I want yours.

What I'm looking for

Anything with a Halloween state of mind:

  • Songs about ghosts, witches, monsters, graveyards, haunted houses, full moons, and things that go bump in the night
  • Horror-movie-worthy instrumentals, murder ballads, and dark, moody tunes
  • Goofy novelty songs and Halloween covers
  • Anything that just sounds like October

Any genre works. I'll sequence the shows so they make sense together, from the kind of creepy you can dance to, to the kind that makes you check the locks.

How to submit

The usual rules apply:

  • Bands from Ohio, or with an Ohio connection
  • Finished, mastered recordings only (no demos)
  • Up to two tracks, high-quality MP3 (128k or better). FLAC is even better.
  • Include your email, website, phone number, and social links. If you're touring, send a link to your tour dates.
  • It's FM radio, so keep it FCC-friendly: no cursing

Full details are on the How to Submit Tracks for Airplay page. When you send your track, put "Halloween" in the subject line so I can find it.

You don't have to be actively playing or recording right now. If you have a song that fits, I want to hear it.

When to send

There's no hard deadline. I'm collecting tracks over the next two weeks and playing what I get. If your track gets to me by Thursday, it can make this Saturday's show. Anything after that goes into the next one.

Haven't been on the show yet?

This is a great way to get into the rotation. Bands I've already played are welcome too, and a new Halloween song is a good excuse to send it my way.

How to tune in

Saturdays at 8PM Ohio time on Wadsworth Community Radio: 97.1 FM if you're near Wadsworth, or stream it anywhere at wadsworthcommunityradio.com/listen-live.

So, as always, submit those tracks! Happy Halloween.

Six Degrees of Ohio is underwritten by the Medina County Arts Council.
